- First of all, for the really awesome Beverly Lewis, who won my giveaway a few weeks ago. She emailed me today to let me know that some THIEF at the post office STOLE the beignet mix, coffee, and *sob* pretty fleur-de-lis stone coaster out of the box. Ya'll, I was so angry I could have put my fist through the monitor. But I have to give a shout out to Beverly, because she is a very gracious person and a fine example of a Christian woman. I wish she lived closer so I could get to know her in real life. And she made me realize that even though there are sorry scumbags who steal other people's items from packages, there are jewels like Beverly to make up for them. I think I'm going to send her another supply, and this time I'll send it straight from Cafe Du Monde's website. No more post office for me. And at least she got the nutria rat paper, right Beverly? :)
- Remember the other day when I blogged about a missing installation disc? Well, I called one of the guys in our church who sometimes does work on our computers and who had actually installed the contribution software on my computer. Not only did he have the original installation disc (and a copy! bless his heart!), he also has the newest version of the contribution software available and ready to load onto our new iMac. Thank you, Jesus!!!
- So a few weeks ago I checked my account at the Jefferson Parish library and it said I owed $32.95 *gasp* for a "lost" book. The book in question was one that was supposed to have been returned the week we evacuated for Gustav and was in fact not lost but sitting in the backseat of my car for the last 6 weeks. So when I sheepishly returned it today, the super-nice lady adjusted my account and only charged me $5! I heart librarians.
- And when I went to the library, they had the Dave Ramsey book that everyone talks about (and also the one I have chosen to read for Amy's book club) and Girl Meets God. YAY, right, Elizabeth? I'm already 4 chapters into Dave's book. I made myself promise myself I wouldn't start Girl Meets God until I finished Total Money Makeover. Oh, and I also read Forsaken over the weekend while I was sick. It was so-so. Will discuss more if anyone is interested.
- Was overcome with emotion tonight over the amazing tapestry of the Word of God and how brilliantly every verse just works with all the other verses. God is so cool in His perfection.

I can't believe someone broke into your box!!! You would expect that maybe if sending a care package to a missionary, but not here. wow.
I would love to hear what you think of Girl meets God. I haven't read it but was thinking of picking it up.
Yayyy! Answered prayers are great - glad you found the disk!
Wow stolen goodies and a missing disk found! What a day! I've never heard of it being someones lucky AND unlucky day:)
I just don't understand thieves. I really don't. So sorry! :(
I cannot begin to tell you how much I love love love The Total Money Makeover and Financial Peace University. It has completely transformed our lives and is one of the best things that has ever happened to us.
You're going to love Girl Meets God. But you're right-Dave Ramsey is probably more important right now. But let me know when you get to the other b/c I can't wait to hear what you think.
I have been wanting to read Girl Meets God! Tell me if it is good!
